About Megan

Megan Bare is a Rockbridge County native who was raised on a beef cattle operation in the northern part of the county. Growing up, she was an active member of the Rockbridge County 4-H Stockman’s Club. She exhibited cattle, hogs, and chickens at the county fair for many years. Some of her most fond memories come from the summer fair weeks spent at the Virginia Horse Center with her friends and family. She and her brother, Tyler, also traveled to show cattle and have great memories from the weekends spent in the show barns.

With a background in education, Megan hopes to bring 4-H back into the schools and have a presence when it comes to educating kids. During her first few months on the job, she has restarted the Teen Club and has offered support to the other four active clubs. She hopes to bring fresh, new ideas to Rockbridge 4-H without losing the tradition and roots that have helped this program withstand the test of time!
